The future of our jobs in the age of AI

A brief reflection on the future of our professions as AI rises to prominence.

Until now, the cost of bringing a new product to market depended mainly on its design, which could quickly add up. Large corporations carved up the market thanks to economies of scale and industrialization, allowing them to compete with the expertise of a craftsman while relying on low-skilled or unskilled workers.

With AI, this production cost is collapsing. Anyone can now create or replicate in a few hours what used to take months of work. Industry will have to readjust its costs and workforce, pushing many technical professionals into direct competition.

Many will seize the opportunity to start their own ventures. You might see it as a renaissance of craftsmanship at the expense of heavy industry, but there is a trap: craftsmanship derived its value from the scarcity of know-how. If everything can be copied at scale, the market risks being flooded with an unlimited supply of average quality.

Scarcity is therefore shifting sides. When designing costs nothing, value no longer lies in the ability to build, but in the ability to distribute and stand out. The real barrier to entry is no longer R&D, but customer acquisition, the cost of which is about to skyrocket.

We are entering the era of the solopreneur, where community, personal branding, and the ability to capture attention will make all the difference.

ViDA: Europe’s New Architecture for Total Financial Surveillance

How can we tell if we are still living in a Europe of liberties? The answer is simple: when your government suspects your every move, views you as a potential criminal, and seeks to impose systems that strip away every form of individual freedom.

My work is dedicated to defending individual liberties and advocating for a healthy mistrust of the State and those who govern us. The proper role of a State is to guarantee the freedom of its citizens, not to enslave them for the benefit of a political caste whose only goal is to live off your productivity like parasites.

Following the development of the controversial digital euro—a cornerstone of a potential social credit system where your money no longer belongs to you—another piece of this authoritarian puzzle is being discreetly put into place. Europe is preparing another brick in the wall: European electronic invoicing, officially known as “VAT in the Digital Age” or “ViDA.”

What is ViDA? The Trojan Horse of Tax Compliance

On the surface, ViDA is presented as a necessary tool to combat VAT fraud. The plan is to standardize every invoice into a specific digital format, allowing for automated analysis by a central computer system. Crucially, every invoice must be issued or received through a State-validated platform.

While the stated goal sounds reasonable, this project raises major concerns for individual liberties and privacy. It represents a fundamental shift in the relationship between the citizen and the State, moving from a system of trust to one of total surveillance.

The End of Declaration, The Start of Constant Reporting

With ViDA, we are moving to a system of “Digital Reporting Requirements.” You no longer declare your financial activities; the system “declares” you in near real-time.

Consider the implications:

An Electronic Leash: The proposed data transmission deadline would drop to just two working days after an invoice is issued. This is an ultra-short leash that leaves no room for human error or financial breathing room.

Transaction-by-Transaction Surveillance: Unlike the current system, where a company declares its overall turnover periodically, the new system imposes the transmission of data for every single transaction.

Mandatory Bottlenecks: The use of “certified” private or public platforms becomes a mandatory chokepoint, effectively eliminating the direct, private, and free exchange of documents between two parties.

The Hidden Tax of Surveillance

Implementing ViDA is not free. It is projected to cost European businesses approximately €11 billion in the first few years alone. Small businesses, the backbone of the European economy, are being forced to self-finance the very tools of their own surveillance. This is nothing less than a disguised tax on technology, designed to feed an ever-growing bureaucratic hydra.

Your Invoice: A Window into Your Private Life

The fundamental danger of this system is that it transforms a simple invoice into a backdoor into your private life. An invoice isn’t just an amount; it contains the “what,” the “when,” and the “with whom” of a transaction.

By centralizing every purchase of goods or services, the State gains a perfect, real-time map of:

Consumption habits

Travel patterns (hotel and transport costs)

The professional and personal relationships of an individual or a company

This system introduces the total traceability of your behavior, turning every commercial act into a data point for the State to analyze.

The Perfect Control Loop: ViDA, Digital ID, and the Digital Euro

ViDA is not a standalone project. It is designed to link directly with two other pillars of the new European architecture: the European Digital Identity and the Digital Euro.

By cross-referencing e-invoicing data with your digital identity and your programmable digital currency, the State achieves a perfect control loop. This is the technical foundation for a social credit score—and heaven help you if you make a misstep.

For example, imagine a company or individual whose activity involves buying services deemed “harmful” by the government—perhaps those with a high carbon footprint. With this interconnected system:

ViDA flags the “undesirable” transactions.

Your Digital ID is associated with this behavior.

Your tax compliance score could be automatically downgraded.

This, in turn, could instantly affect your access to credit, public contracts, or even your ability to use the Digital Euro for certain purchases.

This leads to the terrifying prospect of “algorithmic justice,” where an administration can block a transaction or freeze your rights upfront, without human intervention, based on a discrepancy detected by an AI controller.

A Centralized Honeypot for Criminals

Creating such a system means offering hackers, foreign adversaries, and malicious internal actors all of your data on a centralized silver platter. The State is already notoriously incapable of protecting the data it collects, yet it continually demands more.

To understand the stakes, consider this chilling scenario based on real-world events. In 2025, a corrupt French tax official sold the tax data of numerous citizens—including names, home addresses, phone numbers, and financial situations—to a mafia group. Following this data leak, France suffered a wave of kidnappings and violent abductions targeting people who had declared self-custody crypto wallets. Victims were tortured, and fingers were cut off. This entire operation was commissioned by organized crime with the help of civil servants.

Think about that. The State not only fails to protect you but can become an unwitting (or witting) accomplice to the criminals it claims to fight.

The Assault on Freedom and Competition

The paradigm shift is blatant. We are moving from a system of a priori trust, where checks occur in case of suspicion, to a system of total a priori surveillance, where every citizen is treated as a potential fraudster.

Violation of Rights: Since time immemorial, an exchange has been a private contract between two parties. The obligation to route this contract through a State platform is a gross violation of property rights and trade secrets.

Stifling Competition: This project imposes an immense technological and financial burden on small businesses, forcing them to depend on certified software. It is a barrier to entry that favors large corporations and strengthens the “Big State, Big Tech” alliance. Free competition cannot exist where the State imposes such barriers.

Total Coverage: Don’t think this only concerns large import-export firms. The reform allows member states to impose it for every purchase between two domestic professionals. From the local craftsman buying materials to the consultant invoicing a service, no one escapes the Tax Eye of Sauron.

Why “Nothing to Hide” Is the Most Dangerous Fallacy

Wolfgang Schäuble, the former German minister, once said: “Those who have nothing to hide have nothing to fear.” I believe the opposite is true. Those who have nothing to hide have everything to lose: their freedom, their security, and their purchasing power.

This argument is flawed because it assumes freedom only has value for the guilty. Privacy is not about hiding wrongdoing; it’s about the freedom to be yourself without judgment or persecution. When you know you are being watched, you begin to self-censor. Your purchases are an extension of your personal choices, and no civil servant has the legitimacy to spy on you and decide what is best for you.

What Can You Do? Building Your Financial Sovereignty

Without financial sovereignty, there is no individual liberty. For those who want to take action and build this independence, here are several concrete steps.

Relocate if Possible: If you plan to start a business and it is potentially relocatable, do not waste your time and energy in the European Union. On my Patreon, I share detailed analyses of non-EU countries that are favorable to entrepreneurship, both fiscally and legally.

Invest to Protect Your Wealth: Investment is a powerful way to protect your savings from overreach and inflation. You can start building your traditional asset base by opening an account with a platform like Trade Republic. Focus on accumulating investments that don’t expose you to recurring taxes.

Embrace Decentralization: For those who want to go further and literally “print” Bitcoin daily, I recommend creating a GoMining account. It’s an excellent entry point to accumulate fractions of BTC regularly and understand mining. Remember, Bitcoin is a decentralized currency. If you own your private keys, no government can block or confiscate your wealth.

Venezuela, Sanctions, and the Bitcoin Safe Haven: A New Geopolitical Game

The world of geopolitics is rapidly intersecting with the digital realm, creating new power dynamics that are reconfiguring global finance. A stark example of this shift can be seen in the recent history of U.S. intervention in Venezuela and the surprising evolution of traditional safe havens like Switzerland. This article explores how these events highlight the growing importance of decentralized assets like Bitcoin as the ultimate tool for financial sovereignty.

The Myth of Financial Neutrality Is Dead

For decades, Switzerland was the gold standard of neutrality, a sanctuary where individuals, corporations, and even heads of state could protect their assets. That perception has shattered. By freezing the assets of Venezuelan President Maduro under pressure from the international system, Switzerland demonstrated that it is no longer a neutral player. It now acts in alignment with the prevailing geopolitical powers.

This move sends a powerful message: even those at the highest echelons of power are vulnerable. If the leaders of the global financial system decide to, they can effectively pick the pockets of anyone, anywhere. It proves that relying on traditional institutions and third-party custodians for asset protection is a fundamentally flawed strategy. The only true protection lies in self-custody—holding your assets directly, without intermediaries. In the digital age, this means holding Bitcoin offline on a hardware key, the one and only way to escape third-party control.

Venezuela’s Pivot to Bitcoin

To bypass crippling economic sanctions on its oil industry, Venezuela has reportedly been seeking alternative financial rails. While official figures remain low, some reports suggest the nation may have secretly accumulated a war chest of as many as 600,000 BTC.

Initially, the Venezuelan state turned to USDT (Tether), a popular stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar. However, they quickly discovered its critical vulnerability. USDT is a centralized asset issued by a private company, Tether. This company has ultimate control over its smart contract, including a “pause” or “freeze” function. If the U.S. government identifies a wallet address linked to sanctioned entities, a simple legal injunction is enough to compel Tether to render those funds unusable. This is because USDT is deeply intertwined with the traditional financial system and U.S. debt.

This inherent weakness naturally pushed Venezuela toward the only truly censorship-resistant alternative: Bitcoin.

Why Bitcoin is Different: Decentralization is King

Understanding the technical distinction between USDT and Bitcoin is crucial to grasping this geopolitical shift.

USDT (Centralized): Issued and controlled by a single company. Transactions can be frozen or reversed by the issuer upon legal request. It requires trusting a third party (Tether) to honor the asset’s value and accessibility.

Bitcoin (Decentralized): Operates on a global, peer-to-peer network of thousands of computers. There is no central authority, no CEO, and no “Mr. Bitcoin” to pressure. No single entity can block or censor a transaction. The protocol only recognizes the mathematical validity of a signature from a private key.

This absence of a trusted third party is what grants true financial sovereignty to its owner, whether it’s a nation-state like Venezuela or an ordinary individual.

The Global Scramble for Digital Scarcity

Venezuela’s urgent need for liquidity is further evidenced by its reported sale of approximately $73 million in gold to Turkey and the UAE in 2018. This desperation for alternative financial circuits likely fueled its massive accumulation of cryptocurrency. Now, a new strategic game is afoot: what if the United States manages to seize this digital treasure?

Such a seizure would instantly make the U.S. government one of the world’s largest Bitcoin holders, allowing it to lock a substantial portion of the supply into its own strategic reserve. This is especially significant when you consider Bitcoin’s absolute scarcity. There will only ever be 21 million Bitcoin in existence, and an estimated 3 to 4 million are already permanently lost.

The available supply is extraordinarily limited. Today, owning one full Bitcoin places you in a class of absolute rarity, a fact not yet fully reflected by its current price.

Putting Scarcity into Perspective

To truly understand this rarity, let’s compare what a capital of €90,000 (roughly the price of one Bitcoin at the time of writing) represents across different asset classes:

Real Estate: Owning this amount in property is relatively common. Roughly 1 in 5 people hold this level of wealth in real estate.

Stocks: It becomes rarer in the stock market, with about 1 in 70 people holding an equivalent amount.

Gold: Ownership is even more exclusive. Only about 1 in 115 people own the equivalent of a Bitcoin in physical gold.

Bitcoin: The numbers here are staggering. Mathematically, only 1 in 500 people in the world will ever be able to own one full Bitcoin.

This means that owning a single Bitcoin is four times rarer than owning its equivalent in gold and nearly a hundred times rarer than owning it in real estate.

This profound scarcity is precisely why the world’s biggest players are now entering the space. The creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, holds an unmoved stash of 1.1 million BTC. Public companies like MicroStrategy are converting their treasury to Bitcoin, while financial giants like BlackRock are managing billions in Bitcoin ETFs for their clients. Nations are also making their move, with China, the UK, Bhutan, and El Salvador already positioned. By 2030, this asset will likely become far more difficult for the average person to acquire as institutions and states claim their share.

Wealth is Built, Not Won

While Bitcoin’s historical performance is impressive, it’s crucial to approach it with a level head. This is not a lottery ticket. The asset carries exceptional risks and can experience volatile downturns, sometimes losing 30% of its value in a short period.

Beyond your asset allocation, the real long-term difference-maker in your wealth-building journey is not just where you put your money, but your ability to be entrepreneurial. Investment alone does not create wealth from scratch; it amplifies existing capital. It is entrepreneurship and increasing your income that generates new wealth and gives you the power to invest more significantly over time.

Take Control of Your Financial Future

Conclusion : Votre Vertu est Votre Plus Grand Atout

The Illusion of Forced Virtue: Why True Morality Requires Freedom

Are good deeds performed under duress truly moral? When an action is compelled, can we still consider it virtuous or ethical? This fundamental question challenges the very nature of our societal structures and the meaning of personal responsibility. Let’s explore this through a short story.

A Tale of Two Neighbors: The Story of Pierre and Paul

Imagine two men, Pierre and Paul. They live in the same neighborhood, occasionally crossing paths, but remain largely strangers, indifferent to each other’s lives.

Pierre is navigating a difficult period. Beset by financial troubles, he struggles to make ends meet, finding it a constant battle to put food on the table for his family.

Paul, in contrast, enjoys a comfortable life. His finances are secure, bolstered by substantial savings. This stability isn’t the result of luck, but of his own frugal nature; for years, he has conscientiously saved a portion of his income every month.

One day at the local bakery, Paul overhears a tense conversation. Pierre is attempting to negotiate buying bread on credit, but the baker, facing his own economic pressures—from soaring electricity bills to the need to pay his employees—is forced to refuse. It’s a scene of quiet desperation, one the baker has witnessed with increasing frequency.

Paul is taken aback but continues with his purchase. After all, he owes Pierre nothing. Their eyes meet for a fleeting moment before they both head home. That evening, the memory of Pierre’s predicament lingers in Paul’s mind. An enterprising man, Paul is busy planning his next vacation to Asia, a well-deserved pleasure he looks forward to.

The Crossroads of Conscience

Days pass. Paul continues to see Pierre at the bakery, but only sporadically, on days when Pierre can afford a loaf. Then, one afternoon, Paul witnesses a moment of defeat. Pierre fumbles through his pockets, only to come up short on change. Resigned, he turns and leaves the shop empty-handed, his heart heavy with bitterness.

This time, something shifts in Paul. He decides to follow Pierre.

“Excuse me!” Paul calls out a few meters down the street.

Pierre turns, wary. “Yes? What is it?”

Paul explains that he saw what happened and that he isn’t indifferent to his struggle. Embarrassed, Pierre insists he isn’t looking for charity. But Paul clarifies his intention: he wants to offer help from his savings—a small loan, with no expectation of repayment.

Pierre remains cautious. “Why are you doing this? Nothing forces you to.”

Paul’s reply gets to the heart of the matter: “Exactly. Nothing forces me. I could have ignored your problems and gone on my way, but your situation moves me.”

In that moment, Pierre sees not pity, but a gesture of profound virtue. Sincerity radiates from Paul. Pierre accepts the offer.

The Broken Promise of the Social Contract

As they walk, Pierre vents his frustration. He recounts his months-long battle with social services, his file lost in a bureaucratic maze. “One time a form is missing, the next it’s filled out wrong, the next the supervisor is on sick leave,” he laments.

He delivers a final, cutting critique of the administration: “They tax us all year round boasting about ‘national solidarity’ and the ‘social contract,’ but when you actually need it, there’s no one there. Thank God there are still people like you.”

Pierre’s indignation extends to “pro-social” political movements that, in his view, champion forced solidarity while scorning individual charity, demanding that people simply “pay their taxes and shut up.”

The Unbreakable Link Between Freedom and Virtue

This story illustrates a powerful moral principle: an action is only virtuous if the person performing it has the choice not to do it. Without freedom, there is no virtue.

If I give you money because a man is pointing a gun at my head, I am not being generous; I am in survival mode. The act is born of coercion, not compassion.

By this logic, the welfare state cannot claim to be truly moral. The “solidarity” it creates is the fruit of coercion. A person whose resources are taken by force to be given to others is not being virtuous; they are being submissive. This masquerade of a social contract is a cornerstone of modern politics, yet it fundamentally misunderstands the nature of morality.

The Fallacy of Legislated Morality

This concept often stems from a cynical view of humanity—a belief that individuals are fundamentally flawed and require “guidance” from a higher authority. As the 19th-century economist Frédéric Bastiat observed, many political theorists seem to believe that humanity naturally tends toward evil, while they, the organizers, graciously incline toward good. The legislator is positioned as a shepherd, saving the flock from its own destructive instincts.

But this raises a critical question: If individuals are so fallible, how can we assume the intentions of the “organizers” are always pure? Are legislators not also part of the human race?

Morality as a Cooperation Algorithm

Modern science offers a different perspective, suggesting that morality is a sense, much like hearing or smell. Our moral judgments are often rapid and intuitive, driven by a deeply ingrained algorithm for cooperation. This algorithm processes data from our environment to guide our social interactions.

From this viewpoint, a legislator who imposes a moral framework isn’t a virtuous shepherd, but a manipulator of these moral triggers, aiming to appear attractive and necessary. True moral acts are, above all, acts of voluntary cooperation. They are costly to the individual showing self-sacrifice but are rewarded with a significant benefit: being chosen more often as a trusted partner. We are social animals, and the entire history of our species is a testament to voluntary collaboration.

Political Ideology and “Moral Aspartame”

Many dominant political ideologies, from Marxism to fascism, are rooted in utilitarianism. They seek to eliminate moral “arbitrariness” by providing a dogma that justifies any act, regardless of its results—which are often counter-intuitive, and sometimes monstrous.

Only the individual can be moral. By extension, only a school of thought that prioritizes individual liberty—liberalism or libertarianism—can be considered truly ethical. Any purely political morality is nothing but “moral aspartame.” It has the vague taste of virtue but none of its substance. Consumed in excess, it can become carcinogenic to society.

The conclusion is simple: it is your responsibility to be virtuous. No party or politician can absolve you of your individual actions. On the contrary, they will often seek to tax the little moral latitude you have left to drape themselves in it, trampling your freedom to orchestrate a system of legal plunder.

(For a deeper dive into this topic, explore the concepts of commutative justice vs. distributive justice.)

Your virtue is your guarantee of reliability. It is the master key to your future collaborations and your success. A reputation takes years to build but can be destroyed in an instant. Your personal morality is your safeguard. By consciously incorporating a moral dimension into your free choices, you will rise above the fray.

Build Your Freedom, Secure Your Virtue

My goal is to provide you with the keys to understanding these mechanisms, becoming autonomous, and protecting your individual liberty. What if radical ecology was, unknowingly, the greatest ally of overconsumption?

Current environmental discourse is filled with the idea that the ecological crisis is a direct consequence of capitalism. According to this narrative, only a radical rupture—political, economic, and ideological—can avert catastrophe. For these activists, the ecological struggle can only be anti-capitalist and revolutionary.

Yet, this interpretation rests on a major confusion. It conflates three distinct phenomena: capitalism as a resource allocation mechanism, consumerism as a social behavior, and the array of state apparatuses that shape our choices.

The root of the problem does not lie in profit or market exchange. It lies in our relationship with time and the future. A society that saves little and no longer invests for the long term is a society where immediate consumption becomes the only rational choice. When the future is blurred or confiscated by unpredictable political decisions, prioritizing the present becomes logical. This is not a moral failing; it is a rational adjustment to the incentives produced by the state.

To plan one’s life, specific conditions are required: stable rules, a currency that retains its value, and a legal framework that allows for long-term projection without fear of arbitrary change. When these conditions disappear, saving becomes a risky bet. In this context, consuming immediately is no longer a temptation—it is a defensive strategy.

Take a concrete example: the automobile. In a free market, you would choose your vehicle based on durability and actual long-term cost. But today, the state intervenes massively. Through subsidies, “bonus-malus” taxes, and driving bans, it distorts price signals. Citizens are pushed to buy heavy, complex electric vehicles that are often impossible to repair, all while regulations change every two or three years.

The result? The individual no longer chooses the most ecological solution, but the one least penalized by the administration at that specific moment. Obsolescence is no longer technical; it is regulatory. Perfectly functional cars are destroyed to satisfy a central planning committee that constantly changes its mind. It is statism that creates the disposable, not the market.

It is precisely to decode these mechanisms and avoid yielding to short-term panic that I created this channel. If you want to go further, I offer tutorials and analyses on my Patreon to help you protect your freedom against the whims of central planning. It is the best way to support my work and to fund my projects while gaining concrete tools for your own financial independence. My free content will remain free regardless.

Returning to the subject: systems based on central planning profoundly alter our incentives. By attempting to direct production or “correct” prices, the state weakens the signals that allow us to balance the present against the future. Prices no longer reflect true scarcity, and decisions are dictated by bureaucracy rather than real needs.

The recurring effect of this system is the transformation of capitalism into “crony capitalism.” When the state intervenes everywhere, the winners are no longer the most innovative, but those who know how to influence regulations or negotiate protections. Competition is no longer about quality or durability, but about access to political power.

In such an environment, individual initiative is discouraged. Barriers to entry skyrocket, compliance costs weigh down small players, and entrepreneurial risk becomes asymmetrical. Faced with this, many choose salaried employment, not due to a lack of ambition, but because the system protects established positions and penalizes autonomy. This shift generalizes standardized consumption because it reduces our capacity to be economic actors responsible for our own futures.

Conversely, within a framework of real competition, capitalism imposes strict temporal discipline. Economic survival depends on the ability to anticipate, save, and preserve capital. An entrepreneur who sacrifices the long term for immediate gain faces failure. This constraint naturally favors frugality and the prudent management of resources, as they are conditions for longevity.

This discipline is destroyed by interventions that cushion mistakes: subsidies, bailouts, and expansionary monetary policies. When losses are socialized, the incentive for prudence vanishes.

Monetary policy plays a central role here. A degrading currency encourages debt and makes saving feel absurd. People no longer buy what is durable; they buy whatever allows them to spend their money before it loses its value. This heightens environmental impact while degrading our quality of life.

The ecological crisis is not a failure of capitalism, but of a hybrid system shackled by socialist dogmas. “Social and environmental justice” is one of the most insidious incarnations of this drift. Under the guise of saving the planet, a Marxist prism is used to designate capitalism as the enemy to be destroyed.

They pretend to ignore that inflation and “low-cost” consumerism are the fruits of decades of leftist policies. In France, inheritance and legacy are constantly questioned. This is the heart of the matter: savings and individual capital have lost their meaning in favor of frenetic consumption.

Legislative inflation is an implacable fact. In 1970, the legal compendium was 20 pages long. In 2004, it was 2,556 pages. By 2025, it reached nearly 150,000 pages. The state now meddles in everything: what you eat, how you heat your home, your car, your salary, and even the packaging of your products. This planning creates a legal jungle that stifles competition, breeds monopolies, and atrophies individual initiative.

The law, instead of being a check on greed, has become its instrument. The climate crisis does not stem from an excess of capitalism, but from a total lack of classical liberalism. We are suffering under the tidal wave of statist dogma.

There are concrete solutions you can apply in your own life to defend your individual sovereignty and respond to the climate crisis.

The first step is to move away from purely fiat-based savings by investing in alternative stores of value such as gold, precious metals, or cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. What matters most is adopting a long-term mindset and embracing financial discipline and frugality.

If you choose the Bitcoin path, using self-custody solutions allows you to fully own your assets, removing them from government control and reducing dependence on institutions such as banks or supranational entities that can freeze or restrict access to your funds.

Another option is relocating to a country with a strongly liberal economic framework, such as modern Argentina, which is undergoing deep structural reforms focused on individual freedom and market dynamics.

Finally, you can create your own company to invest your capital productively—allowing it to grow over time while actively preparing for your future.
